Leading bizmen, thematic sessions top summit draws
Guwahati: Educative thematic sessions on a variety of subjects, including aeronautics, bio-energy, drone technology, 200 years of the Assam tea industry, MSMEs and health will be held during the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment-cum-infrastructure summit, scheduled for Feb 25 and 26.
Two entrepreneurs from Assam will be among the country's leading entrepreneurs who will deliver speeches at the summit.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, while addressing a press conference on the summit on Thursday, said 50% of the attendees in the sessions will be from different IITs and IIMs, along with various universities. The sessions will be elaborate and will take two to three hours, he added.
Sarma said detailed sessions on agriculture, veterinary, real estate and urban infrastructure and defence industry will also take place. "This will help in creating an environment in the state to benefit the new generation," he added.
Moreover, the chief minister said several leading entrepreneurs of the country, including Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, JSW Steel Managing Director Sajjan Jindal, and Vedanta Resources Ltd Chairman Anil Agarwal, will participate and deliver their speeches at the summit.
"Significantly, there will be two leading entrepreneurs from Assam who will deliver their speeches at the summit. They are Abijit Barooah and Anupam Deka," he added.
Barooah is the founder and managing director of Assam Air Products and Premier Cryogenics, and he supplied oxygen to the state govt during the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, Anupam Deka is the founder and managing director of Repose Foods Private Limited.
Both entrepreneurs were successful in an exemplary way in their respective fields in the state.
Sessions will also be held on the semiconductor industry, export promotion, hydrocarbon, and Indo-Bhutan relations. "As a whole, the summit will bring opportunities and project the state as a future leading force," the chief minister said.
