Leading the protest in Dibrugarh, AJYCP district president Udayan Baruah said, “There is collective anger against the food and civil supplies department for failing to curb the skyrocketing price of essential commodities. Dass has totally failed to control the soaring prices during his two-year tenure. He is the most incompetent minister in the state government and should have resigned long ago. Today, we have taken out a symbolic funeral procession to express the dissatisfaction of people and highlight the failure of the government in checking price rise.”
AJYCP general secretary of Dibrugarh district Gauranga Gogoi said, “The government should immediately take steps to curb the spiralling price of essential commodities and make it affordable for the common people. From cooking gas, fuel to electricity bills, the prices have gone beyond the reach of the masses.”
