Congress questions repeated water pipeline damage by MVR Infra
Panaji: After a major water pipeline was damaged at Dabolim allegedly by M Venkata Rao Infra Projects (MVR), Congress questioned why govt continues to protect the company.
The pipeline at Dabolim was damaged during excavation for the construction of the four-lane flyover from MES College junction to Bogmalo junction on NH-566.
“This is not an isolated incident. MVR Infra repeatedly damaged pipelines across Goa over the past decade, yet not a single FIR, penalty, or blacklisting was initiated against them,” said Congress state president Amit Patkar.
Congress has called for an independent inquiry into all incidents involving MVR Infra’s damage to water infrastructure in the last 10 years. It has also demanded a white paper on Goa’s water supply management and the role of private contractors in the damage to pipelines.
“Is MVR Infra above the law simply because of its political connections with BJP?” said Patkar.
