SOL students end strike over semester row

The students of School of Open Learning (SOL) ended their hunger strike on Thursday after the authorities agreed to their demands on the implementation choice-based credit system (CBCS) and semester system.

NEW DELHI: The students of School of Open Learning (SOL) ended their hunger strike on Thursday after the authorities agreed to their demands on the implementation choice-based credit system (CBCS) and semester system.
The students led by Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) had been protesting since the executive council approved the implementation of semester system and CBCS on Tuesday.

On Thursday they even threw the study material given to them outside the SOL building. Later in the day, a student's delegation was invited for a meeting with the SOL director, CS Dubey, and SOL principal, Ramesh Bhardwaj. According to Harish Gautam of KYS, the authorities have agreed to their demands and they will now hold a "victory march" on Friday.
