Sachdeva meets victims, kin at LNJP; Tiwari demands probe
New Delhi: Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva visited New Delhi Railway Station and LNJP Hospital on Sunday, where he met the people injured while boarding the train, BJP said in a statement. Sachdeva stated that Union health minister Jagat Prakash Nadda spoke to doctors and officials and gave appropriate instructions.
He said that while the chief secretary of the Delhi govt deployed a large medical team on duty at various hospitals, the Railways arranged three special trains for Prayagraj. BJP MP from south Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, expressed grief over the stampede that occurred at the New Delhi Railway Station and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Bidhuri said that the stampede accident, caused by a sudden increase in the crowd at the New Delhi Railway Station, was very painful.
"Many people lost their loved ones in this stampede. My condolences are with the family members. May God give peace to the departed souls and give strength to the family members to bear this sorrow. I wish for the speedy recovery of those who are injured," he said.
Bidhuri urged the people to be cautious and keep themselves safe, noting that there is a huge crowd of people going for the holy bath in Maha Kumbh. MP from north east Delhi, Manoj Tiwari, demanded a "thorough investigation into the accident."
"I am deeply saddened by the news. May God heal the injured soon. This should be thoroughly investigated," he said.
