NEW DELHI: Delhiites could be celebrating Holi in pleasant weather this year. The Met office has predicted a cloudy day during the festival of colours. However, if you plan to head out to the hills making use of the Holi and Good Friday holidays next week, you could be in for some rough weather. According to the weatherman, the three days after Holi - March 28 to 30 - could see rain spells across northwest India, including the Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
"In the capital region, there is likely to be a spell of rain or thundershowers commencing in the early morning of March 28. The rainfall spell may continue till the 30th forenoon intermittently. During this period thunderstorm accompanied with hail storm may also occur in some areas of NCR," a release from the regional Met centre said on Thursday. The rain would be the likely result of the second of two 'western disturbances' expected to hit the region in the coming few days.
The first WD is expected to affect the region this weekend.
