CHENNAI: Eighteen days after chief minister M Karunanidhi said the report of the Prison Advisory Board (PAB) set up to consider
Nalini Sriharan's plea for early release "was on the way," the state on Monday told the Madras HC that it is yet to get the report.
Nalini, who was convicted in the
Rajiv Gandhi assassination case and in prison for the past 19 years, appeared before the PAB last month.
Though authorities said the report would be dispatched to the government in a few days, it now turns out that the report is yet to come.
On Monday, when a division bench took up the matter for hearing, advocate-general PS Raman said the state was yet to receive the report from the board.
