CHANDIGARH: IPS officer
Pradeep Srivastava (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories; (AGMUT), currently serving as Inspector General of Chandigarh Police, has been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police, by the Union ministry of home affairs, New Delhi.
However, he would continue as Chandigarh police chief. He had joined Chandigarh police force on February 5, 2010.
During his posting as IGP here, he had initiated various schemes for modernization of police, welfare of police personnel and infrastructure development.
"I would continue my work in the direction of making Chandigarh police hi-tech and to make city a secure place to live in. There are many projects that would be launched in the coming days," Srivastava told TOI. Besides, Srivastava has also been decorated with President's Police Medal for his meritorious service. He is 1975-batch UPSC officer and 1986-batch IPS officer.
