NCP candidate assaulted

Some residents of Rajiv Colony allegedly beat up Nationalist Congress Party's assembly constituency candidate Kamal Kumar Kakkar at around 2pm on Monday.

PANCHKULA: Some residents of Rajiv Colony here allegedly beat up Nationalist Congress Party���s assembly constituency candidate Kamal Kumar Kakkar at around 2pm on Monday. Kakkar was distributing voter slips in the colony when the reported incident took place.
He said there were around 12 assailants and he had to flee the colony to save his life. Kakkar added that his security guard was not present as he had gone to PGI to visit his relative.

The NCP candidate goes to campaign on his motorcycle. Panchkula SP Amitabh Dhillon said Kakkar had been provided medical treatment and his statement recorded. Police have not registered any case yet and investigation is on.
