AMBALA: Haryana’s minister of energy, transport, and labor, Anil Vij, stated that the state is on its way to forming a triple-engine government, emphasizing that if all three engines move in the same direction, progress will be swift and unhindered. However, he warned that if one engine pulls in a different direction, development would face obstacles.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote at booth no. 110 in Shastri Colony, Ambala Cantonment, along with his family, Vij underscored the importance of aligning local governance with the ruling party at the state and national levels. “The BJP-led government is already in power at the Centre and in Haryana, and if the party also secures victory in the municipal body elections, development will gain momentum,” he asserted.
‘Happiest about municipal elections’
When asked about the municipal elections, Vij expressed his delight, stating that their absence had placed an extra burden on him. “Since there were no elected representatives, I had to personally handle the work of 32 members of Ambala Sadar Municipal Council and one chairman. Now, I am relieved as we will have 66 extra hands and eyes to take charge,” he remarked.
Congress’ complaints about VVPAT: A ‘Habitual Cry’
Responding to Congress’ complaints about the Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), Vij dismissed them as a habitual reaction. “It’s their old habit to cry foul during elections. If you check past elections, Congress always raises concerns about VVPAT when they sense defeat. But when they win, they remain silent,” he said, citing Congress victories in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, where no objections were raised.
Murder of Congress worker serious matter, says Vij
Regarding the murder of a young Congress worker in Rohtak, Vij called it a serious issue and remarked that pushing others aside to climb the political ladder has been a part of Congress’ culture. He assured that a thorough police investigation is underway and that justice will be served.
As the Ambala Cantonment municipal elections progress, Vij remains confident of a BJP landslide victory, reiterating that the party’s governance at all levels will ensure seamless and rapid development in Haryana.
