Crystal drug, pistol recovered from abandoned Thar parked at grain market in Ferozepur

The Ferozepur district police recovered a significant quantity of drugs and a weapon from an abandoned black Thar vehicle in Kulgarhi village. Acting on a tip-off, the police found the vehicle, which had been parked without a number plate since February 23. Despite public announcements, no one claimed it. Upon searching, the police discovered 12.37 kg of crystal methamphetamine, a country-made pistol (32 bore) with a magazine, a kit bag, and yellow tape. Investigations are underway to trace the vehicle’s ownership, and a case has been registered at the Kulgarhi police station.

FEROZEPUR: The district police claim to have recovered a huge quantity of drug, besides a country- made pistol from an abandoned Thar vehicle, parked in the grain market in Kulgarhi village, on Monday.
Gurmeet Singh, station house officer, Kulgarhi police station said that when a police party was patrolling in the area, they received secret information that since February 23, a black Thar vehicle without a number plate has been parked in the grain market of village Kulgarhi and no one has come to claim it despite making public announcement from village Gurudwara.
He said that on the basis of this information, they immediately went to the grain market of Kulgarhi and took possession of the vehicle. On searching it, 12 kg 370 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a kit bag, yellow tape, a 32 bore country- made unbranded pistol and a magazine were recovered.
“We are procuring the ownership details of the vehicle to proceed further. Meanwhile a case has been reregistered in Kulgarhi police station regarding this recovery,” he informed.
