Cops arrest 2 in cyber fraud

The cyber cell of UT police arrested two persons from Uttar Pradesh (UP) for allegedly duping a city resident on the pretext of taking help after impersonating as relatives in Canada. The cyber police have arrested 100 cyber criminals in 48 FIRs SO FAR this year.

CHANDIGARH: The cyber cell of UT police arrested two persons from Uttar Pradesh (UP) for allegedly duping a city resident on the pretext of taking help after impersonating as relatives in Canada. The cyber police have arrested 100 cyber criminals in 48 FIRs SO FAR this year.
Police said the arrested accused are Vilal Ahmad and Shebi Khan of Dhampur, Bijnor, UP. In his complaint, P S Chopra said he received a call that his nephew Karan Arora, who lives in Canada had a fight with Canadians in a club and injured them.

They asked him to pay $4,000 to get his nephew released from jail. Later, the complainant allegedly transferred Rs. 2.40 lakh to a bank provided by the cheaters. tnn
