Youth held for sexually exploiting woman

Kendrapada: A 26-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly sexually exploiting a 21-year-old woman under the false promise of marriage. Police said the two had been in a relationship since last year, during which the accused promised to marry her.
The woman, now three months pregnant, approached police on Wednesday after he allegedly refused to keep his promise. "The survivor expressed her desire to carry the pregnancy to full term and marry the accused," said Banshidhar Pradhan, inspector in-charge, Kujang police station.
Following the complaint by the survivor, police launched an investigation and arrested the man on Friday. Both the accused and the survivor underwent medical exams at a govt hospital. A court sent the accused to judicial custody.
