Koraput: The Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Koraput has bagged two awards at the All India Children's Educational e-Content Competition 2024-25. The event, organised by Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT, New Delhi, was held at North East Regional Institute of Education, Shillong on Thursday.
A short film, ‘Pahiya Kursi' (wheelchair), produced under the PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya initiative, earned accolades for its impactful storytelling and performances. Kumari Sanvi Boxi of Class II and B Aaditya of Class V jointly received the ‘best actor' award for their roles.
Tarun Kumar Dash, a primary resource teacher (PRT), won the ‘best film' award for his contribution as the film's producer, writer, and director.
Principal S K Dash said that KV Koraput was the only Kendriya Vidyalaya in the country to secure awards in any category of the competition.
The film, around eight-minutes-long, focuses on the theme of inclusive education. "It narrates the inspiring story of a wheelchair-bound child being welcomed and integrated into the school community, promoting empathy and inclusivity," said Dash.
"Pahiya Kursi stands as a testament to the talent and dedication of KV Koraput's students and staff. The recognition is expected to motivate more educational instituters to adopt creative approaches in promoting inclusive education," said collector (Koraput) Keerthi Vasan V.
