Man gets 20-yr RI for sodomising 4-yr-old boy

Sambalpur: A special Pocso court in Bargarh on Wednesday sentenced a 31-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sodomising a 4-year-old boy.
Special judge Kiran Kumar Pradhan also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the convict. If he defaults, he will have to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six more months.
According to reports, the child was playing with the son of the convict on Feb 14, 2022, when he went into their house. The convict then sodomised the minor. The mother rescued her son, who lost consciousness after the incident. When he regained consciousness, he shared his ordeal with his mother, who filed a complaint with local police on the same day.
The judge pronounced the sentence after recording the testimonies of 19 witnesses. The court also ordered the district legal services authority to pay a compensation of Rs 6 lakh to the survivor.
