Madhya Pradesh: Fiancée refuses to marry bobbitised man

BHOPAL: As the 25-year-old man bobbitised by unidentified people in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh is trying to recover from his wounds and his mental trauma, his fiancée has refused to marry him.
He was bobbitised by unidentified assailants as he stepped out of his home in Morena’s Kailaras area on Thursday morning to relieve himself. His wedding was due on February 6.
Meanwhile the police have registered an FIR against two unidentified people under section 326 (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) on the basis of victim’s statements.
“We are not bothering him as of now. FIR has been registered on the basis of his statement. He is not able to identify any of them,” said Amit Sharma, in-charge of Kailaras police station. Accused had also taken away the severed genital with them, dashing any hopes of reconstructive surgery.
Crime scene was also searched for his organ for reconstructive surgery, but to no avail. Villagers told police the victim had gone to relieve himself by the river when he was overpowered by two people and bobbitised.
"Girl has refused to marry him now, we were prepared for that. No one in our family is able to figure out any specific reason behind this incident. Police are trying their best," victim’s uncle told TOI. He is still in hospital.
