7.5k fine for 3 stubble burning cases

Bhopal: Bhopal Municipal corporation personnel imposed fines totalling Rs 7,500 on three individuals for stubble burning.
The BMC staff, accompanied by Awadhpuri police, penalised offenders burning stubble in Laharpur and Amravati Khurd areas within the corporation boundaries, collecting Rs 7,500 in penalties from three cases.
The action followed the Bhopal collector's orders prohibiting post-harvest wheat stubble burning, aimed at maintaining air quality, protecting natural ecosystems, and preventing fire-related incidents. The health wing of BMC's Zone No 14 identified three individuals burning stubble in Amravat Khurd and Laharpur under Ward No 56 on Saturday. Each offender was fined Rs 2,500. The enforcement team, supported by Awadhpuri police personnel, obtained written commitments from the violators pledging to cease stubble burning.
