The veteran film producer, who is the wife of the late thespian Rajkumar, is being treated at M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital for multiple organ complications.
“Parvathamma has shown a remarkable improvement since the last night. She is responding to the treatment very well. However, she is still on the life support system and not completely out of danger,” said Dr Naresh Shetty, president at M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital.
“The next twenty-fours are going to be crucial for her and we are hoping her to do further well,” Dr Shetty added.
Parvathamma, who was complaining of respiratory issues and kidney-related ailments, was admitted to the hospital last week. She had recently recovered from breast cancer and her present condition is related to complication in the functioning of multiple organs including liver, lungs and kidneys.
“Since there is a drastic improvement in her
health condition, we have reduced the assistance of ventilator,” said Sanjay Kulkarni.
The functioning of her kidneys has shown improvement too. The serum creatinine count in the blood has been reduced from 2.9 to 1.6 from the past twenty-four hours, which according to the doctors is a sign of improvement in the functioning kidneys.
“However, Parvathamma is still on dialysis since the urine output is not normal as yet,” Dr Kulkarni added.
Addressing a press conference, Parvathamma’s second son Raghavendra Rajkumar appealed to the fans not to heed to rumours.
“Rumours on my mother’s health condition are being spread on the social media. While we need the prayers, I request people to pray for her and not to pay attention to rumours,” Raghavendra said.
Parvathamma’s actor-sons Shivarajkunar, Puneeth Rajkumar and many film personalities visited the hospital.
