CJ set to begin new innings

BANGALORE: Karnataka is a beautiful state and has a magnificent high court. These were the first words of Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, the new chief justice of Karnataka.
His 10-minute oath-taking ceremony at Raj Bhavan on Sunday was attended by governor H R Bhardwaj, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, home minister V S Acharya and law and parliamentary affairs minister S Suresh Kumar.The police top brass, including DG&IGP Ajai Kumar Singh, was present along with advocate-general Ashok Harnahalli and other lawyers.
Chief secretary S V Ranganath welcomed the new chief justice on behalf of the Karnataka government. Later, Justice J S Khehar was administered the oath and he did so in the name of God.
