45-year-old man shot at by assailants

A 45-year-old man, who was en route to offer namaz, was shot at by three persons out of enmity in Bisalpur city. Irshad Ali is undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger.

PILIBHIT: A 45-year-old man, who was en route to offer namaz, was shot at by three persons out of enmity in Bisalpur city. Irshad Ali is undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger.
The incident took place on Monday night. A friend of the victim who tried to rescue the latter suffered grievous injuries during the shootout.
However, the assailants were unable to escape as the spectators soon surrounded them and handed over to police.

The police have booked three persons in the matter while the injured is undergoing treatment in a government hospital.
The complainant Anwar Ali, who witnessed the whole incident, said his father Irshad Ali and him were on way to a masjid when accused Ghulam Navi, Mohammad Navi and Mohisin Mian blocked their way and threatened his father threatening to vacate house which they had taken on rent.
Upon declining, Irshad Ali was first thrashed and later was shot at by Ghulam Navi and his aides. The bullet hit Irshad Ali’s right arm, the complainant said.
When Akhtyar Ali attempted to rescue Irshad, the assailants also beat him causing injuries. The locals caught Ghulam Navi on the spot and handed over to police, said Anwar.
The SHO of Bisalpur Kotwali police station, JP Yadav, said an FIR was lodged against three named and two anonymous accused under section 147 (rioting) 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapon) 323 (vountarily causing hurt) 504 ( intentional insult) 506 (criminal intimidation) 307 (attempt to kill) of IPC.
