PRSU to launch 9 new PG diploma courses in new session
Prayagraj: Authorities of Prof Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University (PRSU) will start nine one-year postgraduate diploma from the academic session 2025-26. This decision was made in the recently held Academic Council meeting. The Executive Council of the state university has also approved the introduction of the course.
In the recent meeting, chaired by the university Vice Chancellor, Prof AK Singh, approval of 70 online courses was given by the Credit Equivalence Board for the even semester of the academic session 2024-25. Soon, PRSU will start running a PG diploma in Yoga in the department of Social Work, a PG diploma in counselling in the department of Psychology, a PG diploma in criminology and criminal justice in the department of Social Work, a PG diploma in NGO and project management in the department of Social Work, and a PG diploma in cyber security in the department of Computer Science. Approval was also given to start operation of a master's diploma in creative media writing and Hindi journalism in the Hindi department and an MBA in Public Administration and governance in the department of Public Administration. Journalism studies are also being introduced from the academic session 2025-26, in which, for the first time, admission will be given on 25 seats.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Akhilesh Kumar Singh, said, "Nine new courses will be conducted from the new session, and admission will be given in all these courses through entrance examination." He said that the PG diploma in creative media writing and Hindi journalism will be taught under the Hindi Department. If everything goes well, a master's degree will also start from the academic session 2026-27.
