PRAYAGRAJ: In major reshuffle, Allahabad HC on its administrative side transferred 582 judicial officers from their present posting to different districts.
The list of 582 judicial officers include 236 additional district and sessions judges. At the same time, 207 civil judge senior division and 139 civil judge junior division rank judicial officers have also been transferred.
Maximum number of judges transferred is 13 from Kanpur. Besides, 11 judges from Aligarh and five from Bareilly have been transferred. The list includes Justice Ravi Kumar Diwakar, who pronounced the decision to survey the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi. He was in Bareilly and has now been sent to Chitrakoot district court.
The transfer order was issued on Sunday evening by Satish Kumar Pushkar, joint registrar of Allahabad high court. The judges have been asked to join the new posting place immediately.
Additional district judge Ravi Diwakar refers to religious texts in his decisions. He is known to recite couplets of Ramcharitmanas before issuing his verdict.
He came into limelight in Bareilly after issuing a non-bailable warrant against Islamic religious leader Maulana Tauqeer Raza. Judge Ravi Kumar often mentions incidents from Ramcharitmanas and Geeta in his judgments.
