A pall of gloom descended on the railway workers as two union leaders died and several injured in an accident that occurred at Naini on late Friday night.

ALLAHABAD: A pall of gloom descended on the railway workers as two union leaders died and several injured in an accident that occurred at Naini on late Friday night.
The two leaders were officeholders of NCRKS US Mishra and Uday Raj Tiwari.
The two Union leaders were returning to Allahabad after canvassing for the current railway union elections. They were hit by a truck near Rampur tricrossing in the Naini industrial area.

The people who were injured in the accident included Mohd. Rashid of Kareli, GS Yadav of Etawa, Nagendra Prasad Pandey of Civil Lines, Shyam Singh of Chowpathka and KK Mishra of Meorabad.
It is pertinent to mention that US Mishra was a prominent railway union leader having considerable influence. Before joining NCRKS he was president of North Central Railway Employees sangh. He worked for giving rights to the railway employees.
Though he has retired from the railway service long time back still he worked for the rights of the railway employees. Uday Raj Tiwari was also associated with US Mishra and fought for the rights of the railway employees. tnn
