AHMEDABAD: A primary school teachers' body has written to the state education minister complaining that they are being forced to enrol students for Gyansetu, Gyan Shakti and Raksha Shakti schools.

The state government has set up Raksha Shakti, Gyan Shakti and Gyan Setu schools under a public, private partnership funding model for providing free education to bright students of Class 6-8 from financially weaker families who are studying in private, grant-in-aid and public schools.
The letter says that the education department officials are forcing school administrations to get all the students to apply for the common entrance exam which will be conducted on April 27. The letter says that the teachers cannot force students to apply for this exam without the consent from their parents.
Sources said that the state education department wants these schools to be a success and wants to show higher figures which is why the school principals and teachers are being forced to enrol more students for the common entrance test.
