The anti-ragging cell then brought the matter to the notice of the university administration.
University chief proctor Dr. Manoj Srivastava and SNMC’s anti-ragging committee chairman Dr SK Katheria then met the complainant and offered necessary assistance. After a preliminary inquiry, the team suspended Vimal Kumar.
Dr SK Katheria said, “Ragging cell has registered a formal complaint in the matter and the committee will submit a report after detailed investigation. Further action will be taken based on the report.”
In the last two years, SNMC administration has suspended three students for ragging and beating junior students. However, the students took back their complaint during investigation after which suspension orders were revoked.
