IT major HCLTech has directed employees in its Chandigarh, Gurugram, and Noida offices to implement Work From Home (WFH) for Friday amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
The company will evaluate the continuation of WFH arrangements on Sunday, considering government guidance and current security conditions, sources told news agency PTI.
This precautionary measure follows heightened security alerts after recent military exchanges involving drone and artillery fire between the two nuclear-capable nations along the Line of Control (LOC) in Kashmir.
Multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab implemented blackout measures following Pakistan's military forces' deployment of drones and various weapons across the western border during the night of May 8-9.
The Indian Army confirmed successful defence against these attacks.
The Indian response was conducted under 'Operation Sindoor', an anti-terror initiative launched on May 7, targeting nine terrorist facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
This action was undertaken following a terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, resulting in 26 casualties.
