Decades ago, NASA conducted a ‘Clean Air Study’ and put forth the name of a few indoor plants that helped remove toxins and pollutants from the air. They helped tackle pollution, bad air, airborne disease, and more, and here we list 10 of those plants.

One of the most versatile indoor plants, the Snake plant was recommended in the NASA Clean Air Study for its ability to remove toxins like formaldehyde and benzene from the air. It is also a must-grow because it is low-maintenance, impossible to kill, and looks great.

Bamboo palm

Another recommended plant is the Bamboo palm, an indoor tree-like plant that adds a tropical touch to any room. They grow well in indirect light, filter out benzene and trichloroethylene from the air, and look super-aesthetic through the rooms.
