MUMBAI: Direct bus services from the upcoming Noida airport to major Haryana cities is being planned with Noida International Airport (NIA) entering into a partnership with Haryana Roadways.
The service will connect passengers to cities like Palwal, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, Hisar, Narnaul, Panipat, and Ambala once the airport begins commercial operations, said NIA in a press release issued on Thursday.
This initiative strengthens regional connectivity, the airport's location along the
Yamuna Expressway makes it an ideal gateway for Delhi NCR and neighbouring states, including Haryana, it said.
The Additional Director of Haryana Roadways said, "We are proud to announce our strategic partnership with Noida International Airport, which marks a transformative step towards enhancing regional connectivity between Noida and key cities like including Palwal, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, Hisar, Narnaul, Panipat and Ambala.
This collaboration will seamlessly integrate air and road transport, offering a smooth, efficient travel experience for passengers. By connecting our road network with the growing air traffic, we aim to provide faster, more reliable travel options, further promoting tourism, economic growth, and convenience for all."

The initial phase of the Noida airport will include one runway and terminal, accommodating 12 million passengers annually. After the fourth phase completion, the capacity will increase to 70 million passengers yearly.
NIA will link greater Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh with domestic and international destinations. Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), wholly owned by Zurich Airport International AG, oversees this greenfield project's development and operation.
The company works closely with the Uttar Pradesh and Indian governments in this public-private partnership. The 40-year concession period began on October 01, 2021.
The other upcoming airport, the Navi Mumbai international airport too had earlier announced steps to provide electric vehicle and bus connectivity to passengers.
The airport, which is set to be inaugurated in April with domestic flights to begin in late May and international flights in July doesn't have metro connectivity currently.
The Navi Mumbai airport officials are in talks with local civic bodies for shuttle bus services that ply between railway stations such as Belapur, Nerul, Vashi to the airport.
Apart from this electric buses from stops in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane will be operated using vehicles that can accommodate passenger baggage. These buses will have only a stop or two before they connect to the airport terminal. The Navi Mumbai airport too will begin with a single runway and a terminal building with capacity to handle 20 million passengers per annum.
