Ganga Saptami holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. Ganga Saptami is a very important festival in Hinduism. The Goddess Ganga is honored on this day. According to Hindu Scriptures, it is believed that on this auspicious day, the goddess Ganga took a rebirth. Sacred water is the manifestation of the goddess Ganga on earth. Devotees call her as Maa Ganga and seek blessings. The sage Jahnu is believed to have consumed all of the Ganga water, when the Goddess Ganga descended on Earth on Ganga Dussehra.

2. While standing in Ganga water, devotees present Arghya to Lord Surya.
3. Since Shivling abhishekam is believed to be beneficial, many devotees perform it by using Ganga water.

5. Devotees light a diya with Desi ghee near Ganga River.
6. Chant different Vedic mantras as a way to offer devotion to Goddess Ganga.
7. At different Ganga Ghats, special Aarti is conducted in the evening.
8. The most auspicious thing to do is to take a holy bath in the Ganga river.
