Trivikram Srinivas and Mahesh Babu's cult classic 'Khaleja' set for grand re-release on May 30

Mahesh Babu and Anushka Shetty’s action drama 'Khaleja,' originally released in 2010, is set for a grand re-release, and fans can revisit this cult classic on the big screen. Though the film didn’t initially meet box office expectations, it has since gained a strong fan following and appreciation.
The movie is set to release on May 30, 2025.
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film marked the second collaboration between Mahesh Babu and the acclaimed filmmaker after their hit 'Athadu.'

The story of 'Khaleja' is about Raju, a fiery taxi driver from Hyderabad, who finds himself in the remote village of Pali while delivering insurance money. The village is plagued by a mysterious and deadly illness, and the locals believe in a prophecy about a savior who will protect them.
After surviving a violent attack by goons sent by the ruthless industrialist GK, Raju is mistaken for this prophesied hero. With the help of Siddha, the village head's assistant, Raju learns that GK is behind the pollution causing the illness, intending to clear the village to mine valuable minerals. When GK kills Siddha, Raju takes a stand to fight against the injustice.


The film features Mahesh Babu and Anushka Shetty in lead roles, supported by actors like Sunil, Brahmanandam, Prakash Raj, Subbaraju, Kota Srinivasa Rao, and others.
The cinematography was by Yash Bhatt and Sunil Patel, and Mani Sharma composed the film's music.
'Khaleja' is currently available on streaming platforms like JioHotstar and Amazon Prime Video.
On the other hand, Trivikram Srinivas and Mahesh Babu collaborated on their latest film, 'Guntur Kaaram,' which received huge praise from their fans but was not able to put up the expected box office numbers amid high expectations.
