Lorry Accident on Pardi Flyover Claims One Life
Nagpur: A lorry accident on Pardi flyover claimed a life early Monday morning, causing traffic disruption for several hours. Around 3.45am, a speeding lorry rammed into a stationary truck near Kalamna, which had its hazard lights on. The stationary vehicle had reportedly broken down due to a technical malfunction, forcing it to stop on the flyover.
The driver, Anil Bansilal Bishnoi, 33, a resident of Hemnagar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, sustained serious injuries, and died on the spot, according to preliminary reports. Locals and passersby rushed to help and informed authorities. The injured driver was taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Although the accident caused a significant traffic slowdown, the road was cleared and reopened for regular movement by around 11am. In the meantime, limited vehicular flow was allowed under police supervision to avoid a complete gridlock.
Police officials said that a case of accidental death has been registered. No offence has been registered against any individual so far.
