Chief minister
Prithviraj Chavan recently stated that his government has initiated the relief measures (providing fodder to cattle and drinking water).
According to the state government statistics nearly 1,500 tankers are supplying water to over 1,000 villages.
Also Chavan's recent statement indicated that situation would worsen further in the summer season as merely 44 per cent water has been left in dams and reservoirs across the state.
