MUMBAI: Leader of opposition Vinod Tawde has begun his two-day tour to drought affected areas of Vidarbha region.
On the first day of his tour, the BJP leader visited water scarcity hit areas of Buldhana. Tawde during his address to the villagers, assured them to get best possible help from the ruling Democratic Front government.
During his visit, the BJP leader even slammed the government of ineffective handling of the drought situation.

Drought situation looms in several areas of Maharashtra, especially Marathwada region and few areas of western-Maharashtra.
Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan recently stated that his government has initiated the relief measures (providing fodder to cattle and drinking water).
According to the state government statistics nearly 1,500 tankers are supplying water to over 1,000 villages.
Also Chavan's recent statement indicated that situation would worsen further in the summer season as merely 44 per cent water has been left in dams and reservoirs across the state.
