NEW DELHI: A woman have been arrested for the murder of her husband, whose half-burnt body was found near a road in Jaipur, police said.
The deceased, Dhannalal Saini, was allegedly killed by his wife Gopali Devi and her lover Deendayal after he confronted her about the extra-marital affair, said DCP (South) Digant Anand.
The investigation began after police found a half-burnt body stuffed in a sack near a road under Muhana police station limits on March 16. Police suspected foul play and launched a probe to identify the victim.
“After two days, we identified the deceased as Dhannalal Saini. He had objected to his wife’s affair, following which she and Deendayal attacked him with an iron rod, leaving him unconscious and possibly dead on the spot,” DCP Anand said.
The accused then stuffed the body in a sack, dumped it on the roadside, and attempted to burn it to erase evidence, he added.
Both accused have been arrested, and further investigations are underway.
