Temporary traffic diversion at Dabolim airport
Panaji: With the ongoing expansion of the terminal at Goa International Airport at Dabolim, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has requested state govt to divert vehicles coming to drop off and pick up passengers for seven days from Tuesday onwards.
Vehicles approaching the airport terminal will be diverted back onto the highway only in the mornings. The vehicles will loop in and enter the airport from the exit ramp, with the diversion being enforced from 7.30am to 11.30am.
AAI officials said that the diversion was put in place in view of the ongoing welding works for steel erection as part of the building extension work. AAI expects the work to be completed by May 9.
“The diverted vehicles and pedestrians will enter the airport through the current exit area. Traffic police will be guiding vehicles accordingly. We request everyone to exercise caution while approaching the airport welcome gate,” said AAI in a statement.
