RAICHUR: "The Congress, Samajawadi and other opposition parties were the main cause for violence in Gujarat. They cooked up distorted stories with communal leanings to topple the NDA government in the Centre," alleged Trivikram Joshi, BJP''s Youth National Council member, here on Monday.
At a press conference, he alleged that the Congress had hatched a conspiracy to instigate violence right from the Sabarmati Express train tragedy in Gujarat.
"The party''s only aim was to oust Gujarat CM Narendra Modi," he added.
In order to set the record straight, the BJP will take out "Gujarat Satya Sandesh Abhiyan" from May 13 to 19 in all the villages covering every taluk and district in the state. It has been decided in an executive meeting which was held recently in Bangalore.
He told reporters that "the Congress was sowing seeds of discord in the minds of the people" and misguiding them.
"Why was the Congress mum when more than 3,000 Sikhs losts their properties and lives after the assasination of former prime minister Indira Gandhi? Why did the secular leaders fail to raise their voice in the House then? Why is the Congress slient on the issue relating to the killing of Kashmir Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir which has been going on since years?" Joshi questioned.
Mohan Agarwala, youth leader, who was also present at the press conference, blamed the media for "twisting the tales by suppressing facts".
However, both Mohan Agarwala and Trivikram Joshi withdrew the allegations made by them against the media, immediately.
The duo felt that the state government in Gujarat was sincerely working to curb the violence.
Answering the questions of mediapersons, Joshi denied the call given by the students for boycotting the examination. He added that a particular sect of students were given the call for boycotting the examination and closure of industries and to stop the other extra-curricular activities.
Similarly, to educate people about the merits and demerits of the SAS (Self-Assessment Scheme), the BJP has planned to hold "Jana Jagruti Andolana" from May 19 to 21.
