SC admits plea over Udhayanidhi Stalin’s ‘eradicate Sanatan Dharma’ remark, DMK remains unrepentant

Supreme Court has issued notices to Udhayanidhi Stalin, DMK govt over ‘Eradicate Sanatan’ remark. A plea seeking FIR against Udhayanidhi Stalin was filed by Chennai-based lawyer B Jagannath. Plea also says that ‘Sanatana Dharma Eradication Conference' held on September 2 be declared unconstitutional. Udhayanidhi Stalin had made his controversial remarks at this conference. Initially, SC bench was reluctant to take up the matter and asked petitioner to approach HC. However, the petitioner pressed on the issue, saying similar pleas over hate speeches had been allowed by the Apex court.
