Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2 inches towards Rs 7 crore mark in North America

Akshay Kumar’s historical courtroom drama Kesari 2 is making its presence felt at the international box office, especially in North America. After a solid opening weekend, the film is now inching close to the Rs 7 crore mark in the region.
In its first two days, Kesari 2 minted an impressive US $543,378. By the third day—till early evening—it added another $240,892 to its kitty, taking the total North American collection to US $784,270, which roughly translates to Rs 6.69 crore. This strong performance in a key international market signals the film’s growing global appeal and Akshay Kumar’s continued popularity among overseas audiences.
Back home in India, the film has also been holding its ground well. In just three days, Kesari 2 has amassed Rs 29.75 crore, a steady and promising start. Its combination of historical drama, courtroom intensity, and strong performances seems to be striking a chord with both critics and the audience.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is an adaptation of Raghu and Pushpa Palat’s acclaimed book The Case That Shook the Empire. The story revisits the historic trial between Sir C Sankaran Nair and Michael O'Dwyer, holding the English officer responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This gripping legal battle is brought to life with nuanced storytelling and compelling performances.
