In a special episode of Shark Tank India 4,
Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt, shared his remarkable experience of attending a global summit at the United Nations Headquarters. For the first time, Sharks, Dragons, and Lions—the investor panels from different countries’ versions of Shark Tank—came together to discuss sustainable development goals (SDGs). Aman expressed his excitement, stating, “It feels great. We are going to talk about sustainable development goals. Every entrepreneur and leader should know about this and how it impacts the world and humanity.”
Aman highlighted the unique perspectives he gained from meeting investors and business leaders from across the globe. He emphasized how such interactions broaden one’s mindset and inspire fresh ideas. Reflecting on key takeaways from the event, he added, “I learned that we need to focus more on gender equality. We have been making efforts, but there is still much more to be done. There are many problems, and as entrepreneurs, we should focus on solving one issue at a time for a better future.”
The episode also featured two exciting pitches. First, Ashutosh and Naren, the founders of Rescript, a sustainable stationery brand, presented their business, seeking Rs 1 crore for 3.33% equity. While they did not secure a deal, Anupam Mittal saw potential in their vision and offered to stay in touch, handing them his contact details.
Next, Sushil and Kirti Vaishnav, the founders of Ecoil, a food oil recycling startup, impressed the Sharks with their business model. They initially asked for Rs 1 crore for 1.25% equity. Ritesh Agarwal made an offer of Rs 50 lakh for 1.6% equity, along with Rs 50 lakh in debt at 9% interest for three years. Chirag Nakrani expressed interest in joining the deal, leading to negotiations. The Sharks revised their offer to Rs 50 lakh for 1% equity, 0.6% advisory equity, and Rs 50 lakh in debt at the same terms. The founders agreed, securing a valuable investment to grow their business.
