The popular television show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain! is being made into a movie, produced by Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli. While the release date has not been announced yet, the film will feature the original cast in their iconic roles. Actress Shubhangi Atre, who plays Angoori Bhabhi, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with this film.
Even though she has been playing Angoori for years, Shubhangi admitted that performing for a movie feels different. She shared, “I am an actor and an artist, and no matter what the medium is—TV, films, OTT, or theatre—I always give my 100% with full dedication and discipline. Since Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain! is now being made into a film, the work is similar to television, but there is a different kind of nervousness and excitement.”
Despite her experience in the role, Shubhangi confessed that the transition from TV to film was challenging. “Shooting for a movie is very different. First, we have some new actors joining the cast, so building chemistry with them is a new and fantastic experience. Second, on TV, we often improvise our dialogues, but in a film, everything has to be precise. Since a movie has a fixed runtime of about 2 to 2.5 hours, we can’t afford to add unnecessary dialogues like we sometimes do in daily shoots,” she explained.
She also shared how grand and structured everything feels while working on a film. “Everything is bigger in a movie—the sets, the production, the way scenes are planned. But I’m really enjoying the process and learning a lot,” she added.
Shubhangi revealed that she was unwell while filming but still gave her best. “There were days when I was shooting despite having a fever. But as an actor, I always believe in putting in my best effort, no matter the situation. The love for my work keeps me going,” she said.
One of the most exciting aspects of the film for Shubhangi is performing action sequences. “This is something completely new for me. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the action scenes turn out on screen,” she said with excitement.
She also praised her co-stars and the new actors who joined the project. “Everyone is working with full sincerity and dedication. You can see the passion in all of us to make this movie a great success. As actors, we always have the hunger to perform well, and that energy is visible on the set,” she said.
For Shubhangi, this Bollywood debut is not just a personal achievement but also an emotional moment for her family. “My father is battling cancer, but he is very happy about this project. Both my parents have given me their blessings, and today, when I spoke to my father, he told me that once the film is released, we will all go to the theatre together to watch it. That thought itself makes me emotional,” she shared.
She expressed deep gratitude for her parents’ support, saying, “Whatever I am today is because of them. I feel grateful.”
