Zoom restores service after hours-long outage, here’s what the company said

Zoom Communications has restored its services after a major outage disrupted video conferencing for thousands of users worldwide. The platform went down for several hours on Wednesday afternoon, preventing users from logging into meetings and accessing key features.
The outage began around 11:40 a.m. PT (12.10 AM IST), with users reporting “Unable to Connect” errors when trying to join meetings. Zoom’s website and media inquiry inbox also went offline, adding to the frustration. According to Downdetector, more than 59,000 users reported issues at the peak of the disruption.
While Zoom has confirmed that service is now fully restored, the company has not yet disclosed the exact cause of the outage. Some experts speculate that it may have been DNS-related, pointing to discussions on Reddit about potential domain name resolution issues.
In a statement posted on X, Zoom acknowledged the disruption and thanked users for their patience: “Service has now been restored after the earlier outage, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.” The company has not commented on whether the incident was linked to a cyberattack or internal technical failures.
