Elon Musk has reacted to the latest teaser of the upcoming movie in the Mission: Impossible franchise, The Final Reckoning. The teaser was shared by the movie’s actor,
Tom Cruise, on the social media platforms X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. This video shows a behind-the-scenes clip, shot in the remote Arctic region of Svalbard and offers a glimpse into the intense filming conditions of the upcoming action sequel. Set to release next month, The Final Reckoning marks the eighth chapter in the Mission: Impossible franchise and a direct follow-up to 2023’s Dead Reckoning Part One. Cruise, 62, reprises his role as Ethan Hunt — a character he has portrayed since the series began in 1996.
Sharing the post on X, Cruise wrote in the caption:
“It is a privilege to bring a location like Svalbard to audiences. It's breathtaking in every sense of the word, and we can't wait for you to experience it in theatres.”Replying to the teaser, Musk said:
“Okay”Elon Musk calls this Tom Cruise movie ‘Great’
This is not the first time Musk has talked about a Tom Cruise movie on social media. Last week, the tech billionaire praised Cruise's role in 2014's Edge of Tomorrow while responding to a post about the same.
The original post, which included a clip from the movie, read:
“Edge of Tomorrow is the definition of 'rewatchable’. I don’t know where this ranks within Tom Cruise’s filmography, but it’s definitely one of the more original films Cruise has ever made. Cruise’s chemistry with Emily Blunt is also incredibly special. I love this movie.”Responding to this, Musk wrote:
“Great movie”Directed by Doug Liman,Edge of Tomorrow is a sci-fi action film set in a future where Earth is under attack by aliens called the Mimics. Tom Cruise stars as Major William Cage, a soldier trapped in a time loop that forces him to relive the same deadly battle repeatedly.
With each loop, Cage gains new skills and, alongside war hero Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), works to find a way to defeat the aliens and end the cycle. The film is based on the Japanese novel All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.
