"Zip it": Joe Burrow gets ruthlessly trolled for "overconfident" remarks in resurfaced interviews and faces criticism

Joe Burrow, the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, has been regarded as one of the most talented players in the NFL. During his college football career, he won the prestigious Heisman Trophy and joined his current team, the Cincinnati Bengals, in 2020. Recently, a resurfaced video of the star player went viral but Joe Burrow has gotten brutally trolled for his “overconfidence”.


Recently, a compilation video of Joe Burrow has gone viral, which starts with him mentioning that during his college football days, despite playing at LSU, the University of Alabama were interested in him. This particular interview is from 2020 when in an interview with The Leafkoe Show, Joe Burrow spoke about his college football days,
He said, "When I transferred from Ohio State, I was third on the depth chart as a junior coming off a broken throwing hand. Not a lot of people wanted a lot to do with me. People like Alabama we're calling me wanting me to be their third-string quarterback. I was like 'you guys must not know about me yet.'"
The compilation video then shows various instances where Joe Burrow appears confident in his skills.
In one of the videos, an interviewer shows him a childhood photo of himself and asks if that photo looks like someone who would win the Heisman Trophy one day. Joe Burrow takes a look at the picture and says, “Yes, it does”. In another interview, an interviewer asks Joe Burrow if he ever has any doubts on his skills and he answers negatively and appears confident.

Fans are a bit disappointed by these videos of Joe Burrow. A fan wrote, “Best at what… doing just enough to barely miss the playoffs? That’s a pretty low bar”, while another fan wrote, “Zip it up when you’re done bro”.
A third fan wrote, “Still talking about college football. 😂😂😂”.


However, Joe Burrow has a strong and loyal base. Many of his fans believe that it is his NFL team, the Cincinnati Bengals, that has not let him explore his full potential.
Recently, WWE boxer Logan Paul was at Cincinnati for the WWE RAW and he brutally trolled the crowd when he blamed them for “wasting” a talent like Joe Burrow. Some fans were offended by this take of his while others agreed that Cincinnati Bengals is not the “right” fit for Joe Burrow.
Joe Burrow has kept himself away from all the controversies and has not reacted to the statements made. The star player was last spotted at the NFL Honors 2025 after he participated in the NFL Pro Bowl Games.
