In a recent development, Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson is entering into the world of legal issues and has been making news around the corner.
Jackson has trademarked phrases related to his jersey No. 8 after challenging the former NFL quarterback Troy Aikman when he applied for a trademark for the word “EIGHT.” He challenged Aikman in court.

Months after filing action against Troy Aikman's trademark application, he has now moved against NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt Jr.
's trademark of the No. 8.
Josh Gerber, who is the trademark attorney and legal reporter, said that Jackson has filed a legal notice with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office against Earnhardt.
Gerber while filing the legal action, Jackson has said, “widely associated with the number 8 due to his prominence in the NFL and the branding of his merchandise.”
According to the Athlete, “Falsely imply a connection between the two athletes and infringe on his established rights,” Jackson's filing argues.
“None of the athletes are likely to gain exclusive control over the standalone number 8—a commonly used and highly diluted symbol in the world of sports and merchandise,” he added.
“Ultimately, Jackson, Aikman, and Earnhardt Jr. will likely all get their registrations and coexist on the trademark register, each with slightly different branding approaches,” Gerber writes.
The incident has received criticism, and Jackson has been facing backlash for the same. He was highly criticized for making a foolish move against the Legend.
One of the fan taking it to the twitter said, “Lamar Jackson is an absolute moron for this.” Another tweeted, “No one hears No. 8 and thinks Lamar Jackson before Dale Jr.”
Fans went on to question his stability, as this is not the first time. Jackson did the same thing with Aikman. A fan wrote, “Lamar Jackson suing Troy Aikman and Dale Jr over the #8 is absolutely insane.”
Previously, Aikman had his own way of reciprocating and had fun with Jackson on the legal episode. Hence, now let’s wait and watch for Earnhardt's reply- whether kind or he too shall have some fun with him.
