A Yale graduate recently shared his story on social media—and it’s one that’s likely to resonate widely.This student claims that he is a graduate of Yale University, one of the eight prestigious universities that make up the Ivy League. Now, the Ivy League is a group of eight private universities in the Northeastern United States known for their academic excellence, selective admissions, and historic prestige. But, what about employment opportunities?However, the reality seems to be quite different on ground, it seems. The man reveals how harsh the job market is and how each day the crisis is only growing. In the video he explains how he has faced over 500 job rejections since earning his degree, which consists of subjects like Engineering, Finance, Economics, English, Journalism, Psychology, Philosophy, Math, and CS.The Yale alumnus further revealed that he graduated from Yale University when he was 21 and now at 24, he is still unemployed. He wrote in one of his posts, “no one tells you “bright futures” come with yellow overhead lights at your parents’ house.” He also shared his plight and asked, “i’m trying to find my way but just got ghosted from another company. can someone please explain how i’m supposed to transition from this to a real job?”In one of his Instagram posts that he says has already faced over 450 job rejections in his pursuit of finding a job that could sustain him. He wrote, “I graduated from Yale with honors 3 years ago, got a master’s, and still can’t even get an unpaid internship,” adding, “turns out yale doesn’t give job offers with the degree!”But what did he study?In another post, he says “all my friends make $100k+ as nasa scientists, consultants, and engineers. i studied psychology and spanish, earned a master’s in bilingual education, and have experience creating programs for kids, including founding a nonprofit that’s served over 750,000 people and performing my own social-emotional theater abroad. i’m passionate about storytelling and dream of breaking into children’s media (ms.rachel hasn’t gotten back to me!).He added, “after 473 job rejections, i’m 24, living at home, and ready to bring my skills to the right opportunity if my bank account lets me. leads and ideas welcome!”After his Yale degree, according to Yale Daily News, he has now moved to Spain to teach English on a Fulbright scholarship. At the age of 23, he published a children’s picture book called Grandma’s Letter Exchange.Despite his impressive CV, he has faced close to 500 rejections in his job hunt.
