During a recent promotional event for the film Thug Life by Mani Ratnam—featuring Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, Silambarasan, and Joju George in key roles—Trisha was asked about her plans to get married.

“I don’t believe in marriage. It’s okay if it happens, okay if it doesn’t too,” she shared. The host appreciated how Trisha playfully answered the question with minimal interest.

At the same time, Kamal was seen lost in thought on stage. When asked what he was thinking, he promptly replied, “I’m thinking whether she will cast her vote or not.” The remark left everyone in laughter, as Trisha has often made headlines for her rumoured relationship and long-standing friendship with Thalapathy Vijay, who recently made his political entry. The actor is expected to contest in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections.

Kamal further clarified, “She is saying, ‘Even if he does not come, it’s also fine.’ People who are going to cast their vote here don’t think like that.” His playful dig at Trisha drew cheers and applause from the audience. The actress simply smiled while Kamal gave her a quirky look.

Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal Haasan, also features Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Vaiyapuri in pivotal roles. The film is expected to hit theatres on June 5.
