Rahman has announced that his first production venture "99 Songs" will be having a theatrical release and it will be released on April 16. The film will be releasing in theatres in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
A musical drama film, 99 Songs is directed by debutant
Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy. It is the story on art and self-discovery of a struggling singer who wants to become a successful music composer.
The film’s star cast includes newcomers
Ehan Bhat, Edilsy Varghese and Tenzin Dalha, an Indian actor of Tibetan origin, in important roles.
The film has Lisa Ray,
Manisha Koirala,
Aditya Seal, composer-drummer
Ranjit Barot, and Indian Ocean's Rahul Ram in supporting roles.
Rahman, has co-written the movie and he announced the release date through his social media. "Happy to share that #99Songs will release on April 16, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Directed by @vishweshk and featuring the talented actors @itsEhanBhat & #EdilsyVargas @jiostudios @YM_Movies @idealentinc @JioCinema,” he wrote on Twitter.
Rahman has also composed the music of the movie, which he produced under his banner YM Movies alongside Ideal Entertainment.
