The Mollywood film industry has witnessed the desi spin to the classic film ‘Malena’( not saying it's a rip-off!) with the recently released
Malavika Mohanan starrer ‘Chrisy’ and the movie is only raking in low numbers at the box office.
According to the Twitter forums that track the box office collection reports, Malavika Mohanan -
Mathew Thomas starrer romantic entertainer ‘Christy’ has only managed to rake in Rs 15 lakhs at the Kerala box office in two days.
As the movie is getting good reviews from the audience, it can be expected that ‘Christy’ will be able to get a break-even profit.
Helmed by the director Alvin Henry, ‘Christy’ is touted to be a romantic comedy entertainer, and the screenplay was penned down by the writers Benyamin and GR Indugopan under the story written by the director himself. The story revolves around a village boy named Roy who falls in love with his tuition teacher Christy.
‘Christy’ marked the comeback of Malavika Mohanan after a huge gap in the Malayalam film industry and the movie also features the actors Mathew Thomas, Sminu Sijo,
Joy Mathew, Sibi Thomas, Vineeth Vishwam, and several others in significant roles.
