Veteran Kannada actor Bank Janardhan passes away at 74 after prolonged illness

Veteran Kannada actor Bank Janardhan renowned for his impeccable comic timing and memorable supporting roles breathed his last on Sunday night, April 13, reports TOI. He passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru, succumbing to prolonged illness and multiple organ complications.
Bank Janardhan was a household name in Karnataka, celebrated for his performance in over 500 films and several television shows. His career spanned more than four decades, during which he played both comical and fatherly roles. His performances were marked by warmth and simplicity, making him a cherished figure in the entertainment world.
Janardhan's journey began in theater and was briefly interrupted by a stint at a bank, earning him the nickname "Bank Janardhan." He made a lasting impact on both the big and small screens, starring in iconic films like 'Shh', 'Tarle Nan Maga', 'Belliappa Bangarappa', and many more. His presence on screen was always a guarantee of humor and emotion.

Janardhan's health had been a concern since he suffered a heart attack in 2023. Despite recovering at the time, his condition gradually worsened due to age-related complications. His family is expected to announce funeral arrangements soon.
