Rishab Shetty says no sequel to Sarkari Hi. Pra. Shaale, but may work on the characters in future
Filmmaker Rishab Shetty, who recent celebrated two years of Sarkari Hi. Pra. Shaale, Kasaragodu, Koduge: Ramanna Rai says that the film has been very special for him. The film, which ran for 100 days and also won the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film in 2019, had a large star cast that included Anant Nag, Ranjan, Sampath, Pramod Shetty, Saptha Pavoor, Mahendra, Sohan Shetty, Prakash Thuminad, Manish Heroor, among others.

Talking about the film, Rishab was quoted saying, "Sarkari is so special that I didn’t realise it has completed two years. This is the film that took us from Keradi to Delhi for the National Award, and the entire team to great heights, and I am grateful to all those who made this a success." He goes on to add that he may not come up with a sequel but may work around some of the characters from the film. "I intend to explore the characters, especially those of Mammootty, Praveena, and Upadhyaya. This is an organic thought, and I would work out a story around it for one of my future projects," he says.
On the work front, Rishab's next film as a director, Rudraprayag, will go on floors in 2021. The filmmaker, who also acted in films like Bell Bottom, is gearing up for his next film, titled Harikathe Alla Giri Kathe, which will be helmed by Giri Krishna. The actor and filmmaker also surprised his fans and followers recently as he sported a new look.
