In spite of being a part of a film that is based in a futuristic era where the use of gizmos and high-tech gadgets is unavoidable, 'Divergent star' Shailene Woodley seems completely unaffected by it. The actress recently confessed that she isn’t a tech savvy person and does not have a cell phone. Woodley prefers a lifestyle without constant intrusion by technology.While talking about her bout with technology, the 23-year-old actress said, “I’m not a big technology person. I don’t even have a smartphone. I don’t even have a cellphone!” Further talking about how gadgets are in a way isolating people, the actress said, “There’s a bigger lack of privacy than there’s ever been but there’s also a bigger lack of camaraderie and community than there’s ever been. Since I got rid of my phone, I’m talking to people more than I’ve ever talked to in my life because I no longer have that crutch. The more you get away from the entire technological buzz, the more freedom you have.”

Divergent, Shailene Woodley will be seen as Beatrice "Tris" Prior, a sixteen year old, strong willed girl. Based on Veronica Roth’s bestselling novel of the same name, Divergent is directed by
Neil Burger and casts Theo James, Kate Winslet, Zoe Kravitz and Maggie Q along with Woodley. The film is set in a futuristic dystopia where the society is divided into five factions that each represents a different virtue, teenagers have to decide if they want to stay in their faction or switch to another - for the rest of their lives.
